    That a spirit of love us to a life of solidarity and motivate us to work in the defense of people’s dignity, especially the poorest in all the social dimensions of life; in search of Truth, Justice, Fraternity, Freedom and Peace.

NUESTRA VISION

    Que la fraternidad nos mueva a la solidaridad y nos impulse en orden a la dignificación de las personas especialmente a los más pobres dentro de todas las dimensiones sociales de la vida humana buscando la verdad, justicia, fraternidad, libertad, y paz.

TRAYECTORIA  -  BACKGROUND

María Christina Herrera,  Co-Director: ha trabajado mas de 35 años en comunidades rurales y urbanas de México y Estados unidos, particularmente en Chihuahua, California (Valle Central y Area de la Bahía). En su nativo estado de Chihuahua ayudó a crear "El Ranchero Solidario," hoy la cooperativa alimenticia más grande del estado que apoya 46 cooperativas en la region, las cuales han mejorado la vida de cientos de miles de familias.  María Christina  trabajó en la Diócesis Católica de Fresno, California, estableciendo comités de justicia social a través del Valle Central. En el area de la Bahía, abracando Oakland, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Concord ha expandido la obra de Trabajo Cultural CAMINANTE para ampliar el enfoque de sus talleres y el nivel de produccion de artistas locales. María Christina lleva 5 años produciendo dos conciertos anuales a beneficio del Area de la Bahía, honrando a personas que han contribuido a la comunidad: "HONOR MIGRANTE (otoño) y PREMIO MUJER (primavera). Desde Trabajo Cultural CAMINANTE, Ma. Christina ha lanzado Fundación Caminante (501c3), organización sin fines de lucro - para generar apoyo a VOCES EMERGENTES en  a comunidades indigenas en América Latina y poyectos organizativos de la comunidad migrante en EEUU.

 María Christina une la sagazidad de la empresa y el corazón a la producción de Trabajo Cultural CAMINANTE.  Nuestro objetivo es transformar lo que la sociedad entiende como "lucro,"  no sólo como la acumulación de capital, sino como el beneficio social en termionos de lo que mejora el bien común. Maria Christina etá comprometida a crear una empresa donde artistas locales puedan producir trabajo y sentirse apoyados en su creación de la belleza que enriquece el alma y mueve el corazón.

María Christina Herrera, Co-Director  - has worked for over 35 years with rural and urban communities in Mexico and the United States, particularly California's Central Valley and Bay Area.  In her native state of Chihuahua she helped create "El Ranchero Solidario" cooperative, now the largest food cooperative in the state, supporting 46 other food cooperatives, which has improved the lives of several hundred thousand people. She worked with the Catholic Diocese of Fresno, California, establishing social justice committees  throughout the Central Valley and in the Bay Area has expanded the work of Trabajo Cultural Caminante to broaden the scope of workshops, and the production of local artists' work.  During the last five years, she has created two yearly concerts that recognize working people who make a difference in the community: HONOR MIGRANTE (fall)  and PREMIO MUJER (spring). She created FUNDACION CAMINANTE, (501c3) to support "EMERGING VOICES"  -  organizing efforts in Latin America (indigenous and campesinos) and the U.S. (migrants).

Maria Christina brings together business savvy, and caring heart to the production work of Trabajo Cultural Caminante. "Our goal is to transform what society understands as the 'bottom line," not simply as a capital profit, but social profit in terms of what makes our community a more human place to live.  Maria Christina is committed to creating a business where local artists can produce their artistic work and feel supported in creating artistic beauty that enriches the soul and moves the heart.  

Francisco Herrera, es canta autor desde hace 35 años, componiendo e interpretando canciones que lleguen al alma y nos muevan a creer en un mundo donde hay comida, educación y tierra para tod@s, relaciones justas y la paz que es el resultado de ello. Hay un sueño americano que es mas bien un sueño humano que tuvo Simon Bolivar, para todo este continente americano. A ese sueño le canta Francisco. Escucha los cantos y realiza ese sueño en tu comunidad, iglesia, sindicato, familia.



Francisco dirije el proyecto: Trabajo Cultural CAMINANTE, dedicado a trabajar con organizaciones comunitarias nacionales e internacionales, ayudando a afinar y desarrollar el liderazgo.  Cuando el publico despierta y actua, los líderes tiemblan y se comportan, como se dice en el sentido común.  La música es nuestra herramienta y vitamina para recordar, animar y guiar el trabajo, alimentando la esperanza y el bien común.  A traves de retiros, talleres, conciertos y conferencias El CAMINANTE nos ayuda a creer en nosotros mismos - www.myspace.com/franciscoherrera  o caminantecultural.com (bajo construcción)



Francisco Herrera directs CAMINANTE Cultural Work, dedicated to strengthening working people through retreats, workshops, conferences and concerts.  Music provides the venue by which folks can bring their communities together to have a good time, listen to very soulful music and look at their community, deciding what it is we need to change. When people get organized leaders tremble and behave.  Francisco's interpretation of original and traditional songs helps us believe in each other. 



Francisco has been writing and performing for over 35 years, always at the local community level. A true weaver of conscience and story, moving audiences, large and small to work toward a society where there is food, education and land for all, relations based on equality and the peace which results from these.  There is a human dream for which we all strive.
